Yesterday, The Andersons Inc. announced its Rail Group acquired 1,600 rail cars, increasing the unit’s fleet to more than 18,700 cars.
The group, which also owns 114 locomotives, has leased the new cars to major customers.
“Growing the number and types of cars in our inventory allows us to meet a variety of customer needs,” said The Andersons President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Anderson in a prepared statement.
The Andersons Rail Group provides rolling stock leasing and management, and car repair services, supplies rail components and fabricates steel.
