The Timken Co. recently named Alastair Deane senior vice president of technology to succeed Salvatore Miraglia, who was appointed president of Timken’s Steel Group in August. Reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer James Griffith, Deane will be responsible for Timken's global network of technical centers.

Most recently SVP of engineering for GKN Driveline, Deane previously served The Kelsey-Hayes Co. and Bosch in various engineering capacities.

“We’re changing the DNA of this company and infusing our work with a deeper understanding of how technology can revolutionize the way we do business,” said Griffith in a prepared statement.

Timken offers the Timken® AP™, SP™ and AP-2™ tapered roller bearings, the HDL™ seal, and rail bearing grease, and provides bearing reconditioning services.
