Timken promotes Demerling, Hill to new senior positions

On Friday, the Timken Co. announced it promoted Donna Demerling to senior vice president-quality and Lean Six Sigma, and named Michael Hill SVP-supply chain management to succeed Demerling.
Reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer James Griffith, Demerling will be responsible for quality assurance in Timken’s product design, manufacturing, supply chain and administrative areas. She also will continue to head Lean Six Sigma functions.
Since joining Timken as an associate engineer in 1972, Demerling also has served as general manager of automotive manufacturing and distribution operations, president of aerospace and super precision, and SVP of supply chain transformation.
Most recently vice president of manufacturing for Timken’s Industrial Group, Hill will report to Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration Glenn Eisenberg. He will be responsible for purchasing, order fulfillment, logistics and manufacturing strategies.
Since joining Timken in 1974, Hill also has served as director of
global purchasing and logistics, and general manager of the Faircrest Steel Plant.
Timken supplies the Timken® AP™, SP™ and AP-2™ tapered roller bearings, the HDL™ seal, and rail bearing grease, and offers bearing reconditioning services.
