Ethanex Energy Inc. recently contracted TrinityRail to supply freight cars and provide fleet management services for three ethanol plants in Illinois, Kansas and Missouri.

A Trinity Industries Inc. subsidiary, TrinityRail will build 920 covered hopper DDG cars and 1,050 tank cars for Ethanex Energy and lease the cars to the ethanol producer. The car builder will begin delivering cars in the fourth quarter and complete the order in fourth-quarter 2008. TrinityRail also will also provide regulatory compliance, maintenance and repair services for the car fleet.

“TrinityRail was able to meet Ethanex’s plant requirements in a very tight rail-car market," said Ethanex Energy President and Chief Executive Officer Al Knapp in a prepared statement.
