Westcode to supply HVAC systems for Port Authority Trans-Hudson cars

advertisement

Westcode Inc. recently obtained a contract to supply Air Comfort Systems for 340 Port Authority Trans-Hudson passenger cars being built by Kawasaki Rail Car Inc. Westcode has a technology transfer agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Corp. to use the company’s freon compressors, controllers and invertors.

To be manufactured at Westcode’s Binghamton, N.Y., facility, the air conditioning systems will feature compressor technology in a “split” system configuration — the first time such a design will be used in North America, according to a prepared statement.
