The Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority (ACE) recently announced it received 11 statements of qualifications from firms interested in providing preliminary engineering and final design services for three grade separation projects.

Based on a technical evaluation committee's rankings, staff members will recommend to ACE's board that the following firms be chosen for each project: AECOM for the Hamilton Boulevard grade separation; Biggs Cardosa Associates Inc. for the Fullerton Road grade separation; and URS Corp. for the Durfee Avenue grade separation.

The board is scheduled to act on the staff's recommendations at its Sept. 24 meeting.

All three projects involve grade separating roads and track along Union Pacific Railroad mainlines. The grade separation cost estimates are as follows: Fullerton Road, $142.5 million; Hamilton Boulevard, $76 million; and Durfee Avenue, $69 million.
