Rail News: Maintenance Of Way

Loram obtains Stellent software to store, share engineering documents

advertisement

Loram Maintenance of Way Inc. recently purchased software from Stellent Inc. to create an Intranet over which the track maintenance equipment supplier and service provider can create, manage and share engineering drawings, part specifications and other design documents.

Stellent® Universal Content Management enables Loram to create workflow processes for designing and approving part specifications. The supplier stores more than 200,000 engineering documents because maintenance equipment differs by individual railroad.

Stellent's software is designed to integrate with Loram's manufacturing resource planning software, enabling the supplier to provide Intranet access to other part information, including accounting and inventory records, shipping data and sales records.

Loram sales and marketing officials also use the software to manage a digital asset library, including photos and videos.
