CN to use ultrasonic system to extend bridges' lifespan

Canadian National Railway Co. recently entered into a technology license agreement with Applied Ultrasonics, providing the Class I rights to use the company’s Esonix UIT technology to extend bridges’ fatigue life.

An ultrasonic system, Esonix UIT will enable CN to reduce the cost of maintaining bridges, the railroad said.

Applied Ultrasonics develops various ultrasound systems used in manufacturing.
