BNSF Railway Co. soon will begin two projects to replace track in Oklahoma.

The Class I will replace more than 13 track miles in the Red Rock subdivision between Ark City and Gainesville, Okla. Scheduled to end in early November, the project will cost $3 million.

And on Oct. 1, BNSF will begin replacing more than 4 miles of rail in the Panhandle subdivision between Noel, Okla., and Barber, Kan. The $3 million project will take 12 days to complete.

BNSF is spending more than $1.8 billion this year to rehabilitate track, signal systems, structures and rail cars, as well as upgrade technology.
