The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) continues to make progress on its tie replacement program along the Red Line’s State Street subway, Clark Junction corridor and O’Hare branch of the Blue Line.

The authority recently lifted slow-zone restrictions on almost five miles of track, improving travel times on the Red, Brown, Purple and Blue lines.

CTA increased train speed on the Red Line from Grand to Clark/Division, on the Blue Line between Montrose and Jefferson Park, along one mile of track from Jefferson Park to Harlem, and along the Clark Junction corridor from Diversey to Southport.
