Balfour Beatty Rail Inc. recently appointed Paul Copeland president. He most recently served as senior vice president for Balfour Beatty Inc. subsidiary Balfour Beatty Rail Projects.

Copeland — who joined Balfour Beatty in 1981 — has more than 30 years’ general management experience in rail, construction and civil engineering.

“Paul’s global experience in the rail industry coupled with operations will provide the right guidance to take the Rail Group further,” said David Wathen, president and chief executive officer of Balfour Beatty’s U.S. operations, in a prepared statement.

Balfour Beatty recently integrated its four U.S. operating companies — Balfour Beatty Rail Maintenance Inc., Balfour Beatty Rail Systems Inc., Marta Track Constructors Inc. and Metroplex Corp. — under Balfour Beatty Rail. The company provides trackwork, signaling and maintenance services.
