Rail News: Maintenance Of Way
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) recently awarded a multi-year, track inspection services contract to ENSCO Inc.
A MARTA supplier since 1997, ENSCO will provide automated track geometry and measurement test services for the agency’s 104-mile double-track mainline rail system.
The ENSCO Track Geometry Measurement System makes use of non-contact measurement techniques to evaluate track geometry parameters and rail profile measurements. The system can collect, store and evaluate all required data on any required test vehicle operating at speeds up to the maximum allowable track/vehicle speed, the company says.
