Farmrail to begin rehabbing track in Oklahoma
advertisement
This month, Farmrail System Inc. plans to begin an expedited track rehabilitation project between Clinton and Sayre, Okla.
A contractor’s crew will start at the west end of the project so that a yard in Sayre and excepted track comprising 17 of the affected 49 route-miles can be upgraded more rapidly to Class 2 standards, Farmrail officials said in a news item posted on the company’s website. In addition, the work will enable longer blocks of originated crude oil to be moved more expeditiously from the Anadarko Basin, they said.
The $6.8 million project — which primarily will be funded by a federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery III grant — is slated for completion by second-quarter 2013.
