Jarosinski to succeed Cooper as Portec Rail's president and CEO

Portec Rail Products Inc. soon will have a new leader. Today, the company announced it appointed Richard Jarosinski president and chief executive officer to succeed John Cooper, who will become vice chairman and assume an active role in corporate oversight and strategy development.

Most recently a group vice president, Jarosinski will assume the new position on Oct. 1. He previously held various executive positions in engineering, sales and marketing, and division management since joining Portec Rail Products’ predecessor Portec Inc. in 1975.

In addition, Portec Rail named Kostas Papazoglou executive VP and chief operating officer. Most recently a group VP, Papazoglou has held various executive positions in engineering and division management since joining Portec in 1978. He will continue to work out of the Montreal office.

Portec Rail provides rail joints and anchors, spikes, friction-management products, wayside data collection and management systems, and load securement systems.
