L.B. Foster Co. and wholly owned subsidiary CXT Inc. recently finished installing new equipment at a Grand Island, Neb., concrete-tie manufacturing facility.

Produced by Grimbergen Holding B.V. of the Netherlands, the long-line equipment is designed to integrate with L.B. Foster’s existing systems to produce and load pre-stressed concrete ties onto rail cars. Ties produced at the facility — which is ISO 9001 and PCI certified — will fill orders for Union Pacific Railroad under a multi-year contract.

On Nov. 8, L.B. Foster plans to display the equipment at a plant open house.
