Rail News: Maintenance Of Way
Progress Rail Services Corp. recently contracted LORD Corp. to supply fasteners for two turnouts Progress Rail is producing for Dallas Area Rapid Transit.
LORD will supply its new RF Series Special Trackwork Direct Fixation Fastener (DFF), a one-piece, bonded fastener designed to reduce the number of parts required for turnout installation. The Special Trackwork DFF can fit a range of vertical and lateral spring rate characteristics, and features a customizable top plate. Components — such as elastic clip shoulders, switch point components, rail braces and gauge plate hardware — can be welded to the top plate’s surface.
LORD will begin delivering the fasteners next year.
