Maryland Transit Administration to close Baltimore light-rail segment for repair

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) on Friday will shut down light-rail service in Baltimore's central business district along Howard Street for track repair.
The agency will close seven stations along the route, including Penn Station, University Center and Convention Center. The service shutdown will continue through Sunday.
"This track work will help increase the safety, efficiency and reliability of the light-rail system," said MTA Deputy Administrator Suhair Al Khatib.
While that segment of track is closed, MTA will provide shuttle bus service for passengers from the Camden Yards station to the North Avenue station.
