Rail News: Maintenance Of Way
Later this spring, New Jersey Transit will begin rehabilitating the 94-year-old Morgan Drawbridge on the North Jersey Coast Line. Running over Cheesequake Creek in Sayreville, N.J., the movable bridge is used by 74 passenger trains daily.
The $4.7 million project includes rehabilitating the bridge’s open-and-close mechanism, and improving other structural and mechanical components.
To be conducted by Kiska Construction, the work is expected to be complete in summer 2007.
