Harsco Track Technologies (HTT) recently obtained two contracts valued at more than $75 million to continue operating and maintaining track maintenance equipment for the United Kingdom’s Network Rail. The contracts extend operation and maintenance agreements through November 2008, and include optional extensions.
Under the first contract, HTT will maintain and support Network Rail’s fleet of 18 mainline Stoneblower rail grinders, and three switch and crossing Stoneblowers. The supplier has provided those services since the railroad began using the grinders in 2004.
Under the second pact, HTT will manage, operate and maintain five Network Rail-owned switch and crossing grinders.
Network Rail operates, maintains and develops the U.K.’s freight- and passenger-rail infrastructure, including tracks, signaling systems, bridges, tunnels, grade crossings and stations.
