North American Technologies Group Inc. (NATK) recently contracted Mustang Engineering and Precision Systems Engineering to engineer, design and fabricate two manufacturing lines at its 200,000-square-foot tie manufacturing plant near Marshall, Texas.
Mustang Engineering will provide overall project and construction management; Precision Systems Engineering will be responsible for the design and fabrication of automated molding/cooling systems.
NATK is purchasing new equipment for the expansion, which is expected to be completed in second-quarter 2004.
Through wholly owned subsidiary TieTek Inc., NATK produces ties from recycled plastics and scrap tires. Designed as an alternative to hardwood ties, the composite ties have been installed on more than 25 domestic and foreign railroads, according to a prepared statement.
