The Ohio Department of Development recently approved several projects that would receive a total of $10 million in funding assistance through the Ohio Job Ready Sites Program. The approved grants are contingent on controlling board approval May 7.
"These projects are crucial to the state's continued growth and development," said Christiane Schmenk, the department’s director, in a prepared statement.
Among the approved projects:
• The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority would receive a $2.8 million grant to help prepare 80 acres of manufacturing space at the Overland Industrial Part, including the installation of a side track and switches, and construction of a roadway and roundabout.
• The city of Twinsburg would obtain a $2.2 million grant to help improve infrastructure at the Cornerstone Business Park, including the demolition and reworking of rail lines, construction of onsite roads, and extension of water and sewer lines.

• The Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber would receive a $2 million grant to help improve infrastructure at the Ohio Commerce Center property, including grade crossing and rail line improvements, street resurfacing work and bridge modifications.
