One rail industry supplier and two engineering firms made a few changes to their executive staffs:

• Portec Rail Products Inc. promoted Brian Vidler from vice president of sales and marketing to VP and general manager of Kelsan Technologies Corp. Vidler joined Kelsan in 2000. Portec Rail also appointed David Hartman to the newly created position of marketing and advertising manager-corporate division. He had served as account sales and advertising manager for Portec Rail's Railway Maintenance Products Division since he joined the company in 1999.

• Kennedy/Jenks Consultants named Robert Hagler group leader of its railroad design center in Kansas City, Mo. He has more than 12 years of experience in civil engineering design, and construction and project management for Class I clients. Hagler recently collaborated with a BNSF Railway Co./Suncor Energy team to develop a track and yard facility expansion plan in Commerce City and Grand Junction, Colo.

• Patrick Engineering Inc. appointed Chris Burger, Paul Lopez and Chris Dietzler as vice presidents. A Patrick Engineering employee the past 16 years, Burger manages the firm's Springfield, Ill., office. Lopez, a 10-year Patrick Engineering veteran, manages the company's transportation division. Dietzler, who joined the firm six years ago, leads distribution and design/build teams serving the electric utility industry.
