advertisement
Union Pacific Railroad plans to spend about $31 million to upgrade a 37-mile line between Lusk and Shawnee, Wyo.
To be completed by mid-November, the project calls for removing and installing more than 28 miles of rail and about 75,000 concrete ties, renewing surfaces at seven grade crossings, spreading about 48,000 tons of ballast and replacing three switches.
The work is part of UP’s $3.3 billion capital spending budget for 2011.
