UP to upgrade Wyoming line
advertisement
Last week, Union Pacific Railroad began a $3.9 million track improvement project on a line in Wyoming.
Scheduled to conclude Nov. 5, the project is designed to provide smoother grade crossing surfaces for motorists and enable trains to operate more efficiently between Bitter Creek and Green River. Crews will remove wood ties and install 29,300 new ties, spread 11,700 tons of ballast and replace surfaces at 32 crossings.
The project is part of UP’s $3.1 billion capital spending budget this year. Since 2003, the railroad has spent $508 million on capital projects in Wyoming.
