Union Pacific to upgrade Nebraska line

Union Pacific Railroad plans to spend about $7 million to bolster a line between North Bend and Grand Island, Neb.
To be completed by June's end, the project calls for replacing 33,500 concrete ties and replacing one switch.
The project is one of nearly 1,500 that UP plans to complete this year as part if its $3.6 billion capital spending budget for 2013. The Class I's replacement capital budget is $2.2 billion.
