The agreement will provide NS mechanical railroaders with four new days of paid sick leave per year, as well as the flexibility to use up to three additional days of existing paid time off as sick leave, NS officials said in a press release.
With the new IBBB agreements, nine of NS’ 12 unions now have locally negotiated paid sick days, benefiting 6,000 railroaders. Earlier this week, NS announced agreements with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.
