Norfolk Southern Railway's Thoroughbred Bulk Transfer (TBT) terminal in Elizabeth, New Jersey, recently was named No. 1 on Commtrex’s Top 10 Transloading list.
A tech-enabled rail logistics service provider, Commtrex does business with all Class Is and its annual ranking is based on positive user engagement, NS officials said in a press release.
The Elizabeth TBT is located near Interstate-95 and serves the New York City and New Jersey markets. The facility features 167 rail-car spots, a 10-acre lay-down area and 15,000-square-foot warehouse with three rail dock docks. At its Croxton Yard, NS provides daily switching services for the TBT.
The terminal currently handles lumber, dry and liquid chemicals, food-grade products and other commodities. In addition, the facility features a a grain container tower and a designated area for spill containment that can accommodate 15 rail cars.
Moreover, the TBT offers rail-car steam service, air compressors, pumps, conveyors, front-end loaders, forklifts and a certified scale.
