Norfolk Southern Corp. recently introduced a mobile application for smart phones that provides access to the company's latest news, general and stock information and images. The free app now is available for iPhones and soon will be available for Droid phones.

A “news” button provides access to company news releases and real-time feeds of NS’ Facebook and Twitter pages; a “stocks” button provides the latest stock price and related financial news; and a “media” button offers access to photos and videos. The app also enables users to access a system map, find telephone numbers and explore NS milestones dating back to 1827.  
 
“This puts NS information into the palm of the hand,” said Frank Brown, NS assistant vice president of corporate communications, in a prepared statement.
