Norfolk Southern Corp. has elected Thomas Kelleher as a board member, effective yesterday. He will serve as an independent director and join the board's finance and risk management committee.Kelleher, 61, is president of global financial services and investment management firm Morgan Stanley. He also is chairman and chief executive officer of Morgan Stanley Bank N.A. Kelleher is responsible for Morgan Stanley's institutional securities business and wealth management.Prior to being named president in 2016, he served as president of Morgan Stanley Institutional Securities and CEO of Morgan Stanley International, overseeing the firm's businesses outside of the United States and its global institutional securities business. Since joining Morgan Stanley in 1989, Kelleher has worked in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific region."[Kelleher] brings deep knowledge of and invaluable experience in finance, accounting and strategic planning, in addition to government relations," said NS Chairman, President and CEO James Squires in a press release. "He is a welcome and valued addition to the board."
