The Site Selectors Guild has added nine Norfolk Southern Railway-served industrial development properties to the guild's Readiness Evaluation for Development and Investment (REDI) Sites program.

The added locations bring the total number of NS-served sites in the program to 12. The guild assesses factors such as infrastructure capacity, ease of development, ownership and entitlements to create a nationwide database of project-ready sites, NS officials said in a press release.

REDI Sites receive one of five designations based on the program criteria: platinum, gold, silver, bronze or emerging. NS sites added to the program include:

  • Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill, 3,278 acres in Danville, Virginia, a gold site;
  • NEAR Mega Site, 1,083 acres in Gadsden, Alabama, a silver site;
  • Heart of America Mega-Site, 1,704 acres in New Florence, Missouri, a bronze site;
  • Great Meadows Meta Industrial Park, 1,353 acres in Morganton, North Carolina, a bronze site;
  • Alexandria Business Park, 459 acres in Alexandria, Indiana, a bronze site;
  • MegaSite USA, 364 acres in Dwight, Illinois, a bronze site;
  • Red Rock South, 107 acres in McCalla, Alabama, a bronze site;
  • Lighthouse Road Site, 248 acres in Guildford Springs, Pennsylvania, an emerging site; and
  • Cowley Site, 224 acres in McCalla, Alabama, an emerging site.
