Squires assumes additional responsibilities at NS
Norfolk Southern Corp. President James Squires will assume additional responsibilities in line with the Class I's succession planning process, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman announced yesterday.
Effective June 1, NS’ marketing and operations divisions will report to Squires. He also will continue to oversee the corporation’s administration, finance, law and corporate relations, and planning and information technology divisions.
Since he became president in mid-2013, Squires has provided a "distinctive and forward-looking perspective" for the railroad's most important activities and issues, said Moorman in a press release.
"His work in the marketing and operations divisions will advance that leadership momentum," he said.
Squires joined NS in 1992 and since has served in various high-ranking law, finance and administrative positions, including vice president of law, senior vice president of law, SVP of financial planning, executive VP of finance and EVP of administration.
