On Nov. 18, Dallas Area Rapid Transit plans to continue its expanding ways by opening the Forest/Jupiter and Downtown Garland stations on DART’s Blue Line.

Trains will operate between 5 a.m. and 12 midnight daily, departing every 10 minutes during peak periods, and every 15 to 20 minutes midday, evenings and weekends. Officials expect travel time between Downtown Garland and West End Station in downtown Dallas to be 32 minutes.

DART plans to celebrate the line’s opening on Nov. 16 with free train rides, live music, exhibitor booths, face painting, safety presentations and pass good for a week’s free DART bus and rail service.

On Dec. 9, officials plan to open Bush Turnpike, Downtown Plano and Parker Road stations on the Red Line. With the station openings, DART will have completed a plan to double its system to 44 miles and 34 stations. To date, work on the entire system has been finished within budget and on time or ahead of schedule.
