ALSTOM tabs US&S system for NJT locomotives

Union Switch & Signal Inc. recently was awarded a $3.8 million contract by ALSTOM Transport to deliver Advanced Speed Enforcement System (ASES) cab signaling systems for diesel-electric locomotives ALSTOM is manufacturing for New Jersey Transit, according to a statement prepared Aug. 13.
Contract terms call for US&S to deliver 33 sets of ASES and associated equipment during a 24-month period.
ASES is designed to enforce civil speeds and provide positive train stop protection.
