Jacobs Engineering lands Cross London design contract

A Jacobs Engineering Inc. subsidiary recently was awarded a contract by Cross London Rail Links Ltd. to design surface railways and stations west of London.
Under the contract’s terms, Jacobs would provide design services, risk assessment and preliminary costing for 18 stations and 35 track miles west of Paddington, England, including buildings, track, bridges, tunnels and all civil works. The contract’s value wasn’t disclosed.
The $9 billion Crossrail project, which includes Cross London Rail Links Ltd., would provide a high-capacity, east-west rail link across London.
