advertisement
Bombardier Transportation July 2 announced it recently received a $15.7 million follow-on order from the Ports and Railway Authority - Israel Railways for three four-car, double-stack trains, which would be used in the Tel Aviv area as part of "Railway 2000."
The air-conditioned trains, which comprise one power car and three trailers, brings to 17 the number of double-stack trains Israel Railways has ordered from Bombardier since 1999.
Bombardier officials plan to manufacture and assemble this order at the company’s Gorlitz, Germany, facility. Bombardier’s Berlin-Marzahn plant will supply electrical equipment; Vetschau, bogies.
The trains are scheduled for delivery between April and May 2004.
