Alstom Transport March 28 announced it had acquired $190 million in transit car overhaul contracts from United Industrial Corp. subsidiary AAI Corp.

Contracts being transferred include one to continue overhauling New Jersey Transit push-pull Comet II cars originally manufactured in 1982 and remaining self-propelled Maryland Mass Transit Administration’s Baltimore metro cars originally manufactured between 1981 and 1983.

Formal contractual take-over is expected to take place during the second quarter.
