Bombardier lands $58 million in North American contracts

Bombardier Transportation Feb. 19 announced it recently was awarded $58 million in orders for the manufacture and supply of bi-level commuter rail cars for North American transportation authorities North San Diego County Transit District, Sound Transit, San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission and Fort Worth Transportation Authority.
In all, Bombardier plans to manufacture 12 cab cars and 18 coaches at its Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Barre, Vt., facilities. Deliveries are scheduled to take place during 2003.
