Rail News: Passenger Rail
On Sept. 6, New Jersey Transit plans to open the Secaucus transfer station for weekend service.
The $450 million station will connect 10 of NJ Transit’s 11 rail lines, providing passengers with improved transportation options to popular destinations, according to a prepared statement.
During the past year, the agency has added more service throughout the system to prepare for the station’s phased-in service, enabling passengers to become accustomed to new schedules and service patterns, according to a prepared statement.
The agency plans to launch weekday service at the station by year end.
