Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) recently expanded its RideGuide online trip planner to include information on six additional transit agencies.

Customers now can obtain trip planning information for Maryland Transit Administration, Virginia Virginia Railway Express, Annapolis Transit, Howard County Transit, Loudoun Commuter Transit and Frederick Transit by logging onto www.metroopensdoors.com. The site now includes routing, scheduling and fare information for all 17 major transit providers in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

Launched in 1999, the trip planner was expanded in 2002 to include a telephone-based, voice-enabled service for customers without Internet access.
