Rail News: Passenger Rail

CTA offers monthly reserved parking passes

advertisement

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) recently launched a pilot program under which passengers can reserve parking spaces at three of the agency’s most heavily used park-and-ride lots.

CTA will make monthly parking permits available for 15 percent of the spaces at the Cumberland park-and-ride lot on the Blue Line near O’Hare International Airport, and at the Midway and Pulaski park-and-ride lots on the Orange Line near Midway International Airport.

By purchasing a $43 monthly permit, passengers can reserve a parking spot near the station entrance until 10 a.m. daily; if the spot isn’t taken by then, CTA will forfeit the reservation for the day and the spot will be available for all passengers.

Customers who purchase the monthly parking pass still will be required to pay the daily parking fee.
