Sound Transit deploys station agents system-wide
advertisement
Last week, Sound Transit added station agents at platforms throughout its Sounder commuter-rail system to provide on-site customer service.
Agents will assist riders with ticket purchases, provide information about delays and emergency, give directions and help disabled passengers. They’ll also report maintenance problems and serve as a security presence.
As Sounder ridership continues to grow, the agency is finding that more new riders need assistance. In 2007, ridership grew 27.4 percent. The agency anticipates ridership to continue increasing as it adds more Sounder trains in September.
