Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) recently was recognized as the best transit agency in  North, South and Central America at the annual MetroRail Conference, which was held March 30-April 2 in London.

The "Best Metro Americas" award recognizes "companies that have demonstrated an unparalleled ability to succeed and continually set standards of excellence," according to a prepared statement. Nominees were judged on integration with other transit modes, customer service, value for money, safety and performance standards.
