NYCT to test Bronx Express morning service a second time
advertisement
Next week, MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) will launch a second pilot program aimed at shortening rush-hour travel times along the 4 Line by adding Bronx Express service between Woodlawn and 149th Street-Grand Concourse.
The pilot will begin on Oct. 26. and end on Dec. 11. Express trains will operate every 20 minutes between 7 a.m. and 8:20 a.m.
“Bronx Express 4” trains will skip eight stations, reducing morning peak travel times by about four minutes from a scheduled 21-minute running time between Woodlawn and the concourse.
The results of the second pilot will be evaluated after the seven-week trial is completed. NYCT later will determine whether to make the operational change permanent.
