For the third-straight year, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has scored a passenger satisfaction rating that exceeds 90 percent. In this year’s survey of more than 5,500 riders, which was conducted in August, 93 percent of the respondents chose “general satisfaction” to rate the agency’s service compared with 94 percent in 2008 and 91 percent in 2007.

In addition, 95 percent of the respondents would recommend riding DART to others, 86 percent believed service was better than last year and 95 percent said trains were running on time.

“Customer perception of vehicle cleanliness was up for both trains (at 95 percent) and buses (81 percent) compared with 2008,” DART officials said in a prepared statement.

The survey also showed that 90 percent of the respondents “felt safe” on trains, and 86 percent felt safe at rail stations and bus stops.
