Tomorrow, Sound Transit will mark the 10th anniversary of its Sounder commuter-rail service. Sounder’s ridership has grown from 102,552 in its first year of operation to an estimated 2.8 million by the end of 2010, Sound Transit officials said in a prepared statement.

Sounder service began in 2000 between Tacoma and Seattle. North Corridor service between Everett and Seattle was added in 2003.

During the past decade, Sound Transit has continued to increase service on both corridors. Now, the agency offers nine daily round trips in the South Corridor and four daily round trips in the North Corridor.
