A recent survey conducted for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) found that most riders polled are satisfied with Metro rail and bus service.

The onboard survey, conducted in June and July, showed 86 percent of respondents “agreed” or “strongly agreed” they were satisfied with service compared with 14 percent who  “disagreed.” Seventy-nine percent said the system is better now than it was a year ago.

The survey also showed that 84 percent of the respondents — up from 80 percent a year ago — use the Metro primarily to get to-and-from work, with 25 percent indicating they chose to ride the agency’s system even though they had a vehicle available for the trip.

Applied Management and Planning Group in Los Angeles conducted the system-wide survey from June 4 through July 16. A total 17,795 riders responded.
