The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO) has appointed Randy Frazier vice president and chief information officer.

A veteran of the U.S. Marines, Frazier has served METRO since 1999, when he joined the agency as a staff attorney. He later served as senior staff attorney in the law department. Frazier was promoted to associate vice president of corporate development in 2008, and became associate VP of information technology in 2009. He has been serving as acting VP of information technology since 2010.

“With so many advancements in information technology, I want to make sure METRO’s systems are at the forefront of those advances to provide the most cost-effective and efficient ways to support the day-to-day business of the transit agency,” Frazier said in a prepared statement.
