Tarrytown station project completed on schedule, Metro-North says

MTA Metro-North Railroad officials recently marked the completion of a $36 million project to reconstruct a station in Tarrytown, N.Y., the second-busiest facility on the Hudson Line.
The station was torn down and rebuilt with $36 million in funding from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) capital program coupled with a grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Metro-North officials said in a prepared statement.
The project was completed on schedule and under budget, they said. The Tarrytown facility is used by about 6,000 people daily from Westchester and Rockland counties.
"This is a first-rate project that has vastly improved the daily experience of thousands of customers and travelers and is sure to make this busy station even busier," said MTA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Lhota.
