Austin's Capital Metro solicits public input on transportation study

Capital Metro is offering an online open house through Nov. 7 to solicit public comments about a transportation study on long-term mobility issues in the Austin, Texas, area.

Residents can "visit" the online open house and view examples of high-capacity transit options at the project website, www.connectcentraltexas.com, Capital Metro officials said in a prepared statement.

"The study will help determine the best transportation solutions to improve mobility in the high-growth region," said Capital Metro President and Chief Executive Officer Linda Watson. "We want to know what people think, what their challenges and priorities are, so we can put into place an integrated system that works for everyone, and helps communities become stronger as the area grows."

Capital Metro launched the "Project Connect: North Corridor Study" earlier this year. The study is the next step in Project Connect, a collaboration between the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, city of Austin, Capital Metro and Lone Star Rail District.
