The T seeks public input on proposed TEX Rail changes

The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) is soliciting public comments on an environmental analysis of recent changes made to the TEX Rail project since a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was completed.

Federal regulations require that all DEIS studies be re-evaluated by the sponsoring federal agency — in this case, the Federal Transit Administration — before filing the Final EIS if there have been changes to the project or potential changes to the environment, The T officials said in a prepared statement.

As a result, a stand-alone environmental assessment was completed to document the changes, and re-evaluate the social, economic and environmental impacts.

Formerly known as the Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor, the TEX Rail project is a proposed 37-mile commuter-rail line that would run from southwest Fort Worth, through the downtown, on to Grapevine and into the north end of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
